BRIAN C. OLSON is a corporate and small-business attorney with the Boston firm Squillace & Associates, P.C. He has extensive experience in both U.S. and international practice.
Prior to joining Squillace & Associates in January 2009, Brian was Vice President of Legal Affairs at Grand Circle Travel, a privately-held international tour and cruise operator. At Grand Circle, Brian managed all aspects of the company’s legal functions in the United States and in thirty other countries in which the company operated. He counseled senior management and excels at conveying complicated legal concepts in plain language and effectively managing client expectations. He regularly represented the company in negotiating and closing cross-border transactions, managed all of the company’s litigation and employment matters, and drafted and negotiated contracts of all kinds. Brian supervised outside counsel and created and managed the company’s budget for legal expenses.
At Squillace & Associates, Brian advises small- and medium-sized businesses with, among other things, company formation and maintenance, contracting, and employment, and helps client families with family business needs. His experience in private companies helps him understand the unique needs of private, family-run, and other closely held businesses.
Brian coaches the Wellesley College Mock Trial Team, teaching trial techniques and preparing students for competition. Since he started coaching in 2001, the team has achieved top-five finishes in each of its annual regional tournaments, and has twice achieved a top five finish in a national tournament.
He graduated from Muhlenberg College magna cum laude in 1996 with a B.A. in Philosophy, and received his Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center cum laude in 1999.
Brian lives in Natick, Massachusetts with his wife Maria. He has traveled extensively for both work and pleasure throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.
